SOLD - complete Garmin 10" G3X System

Postby Jay Conlin » Sun Jun 18, 2017 10:22 pm

I'm selling my G3X system. Purchased from SteinAir and wired by SteinAir prior to it being delivered. All wiring harnesses are complete and included in the sale. I purchased this system for a Lancair ES that I had an agreement to purchase. Unfortunately, the seller decided to sell the ES to someone else leaving me with a surplus of avionics.

The package includes the following:

1) Garmin G3X Single GDU 465 Screen Package + XM. Includes display w/ XM, ADAHRS module, remote compass and OAT prob.
- GDU465, GSU25, GMU22, GEA24, & config module.
- Garmin GSU25 connector / install kit
- Garmin GEA24 connector / install kit
- Garmin GMU22 connector / install kit
- GDU460/465 (10") connector / install kit

2) GTR-20 Remote Comm Radio for G3X Touch

3) GTX-23 ES Remote Mode S Transponder

4) Garmin GMA-240 Audio Panel

5) Two Garmin GSA28 Autopilot Servo and connector / install kits

6) Garmin GMC305 Autopilot Control Panel and connector / install kit

7) all wiring harnesses for the above noted items.

Requesting $14,000.00 US for the package. I will cover up to $150.00 US in shipping costs for the successful purchaser.

Jay, I have a hangar mate here in Spruce that has a Harmon Rocket and I'm trying to get him to dump his steam gauge panel for a single GDU G3X like mine, which is basically what you are selling. I priced what I could but I don't know what Stein charges for harnesses but they would definitely save time (I know). But I can't get to a figure for the hardware listed that makes sense to me versus your $14k ask. It might help to list the harness components and maybe show us why it would be attractive versus going to stein direct (or another Garmin dealer). Is there a discount on your price or have I missed something in my calculations or are these harnesses really expensive? Thank you.

harnesses can be thousands of dollars, especially the fast stack stuff

i hate that he did that to you and pulled the ES deal, that is a really unfortunate outcome for all parties, to me, there is nothing better than an ES with G3X panel

the next step up will cost you millions

I do not think this is a fast stack panel. If stein was building harnesses from scratch why would you want the fast stack additional cost and device? It should be ready to go out of the box.

Paul,

In order to answer your question, I would have to know what type of numbers you are comparing my prices to? Stein charged me $2,095.00 for the harnesses. There are benefits to acquiring the complete system wired and tested by a reputable avionics shop such as SteinAir.

If anyone was interested in the system I would let it go for $12,500.00 US.

Brian,

I agree, it is an unfortunate outcome. The fellow was going to finish his nearly complete kit for me and I was to purchase the items to finish it. I acquired a complete panel, a new three blade prop, a new Lyc IO-540, and I had Conrad Huffstuter (Lancair) build me an IO-540 engine mount. All in all I am $85k into a build with no ES fuselage to mate it to. I currently have my name down on the Mako list so hopefully this turns out to be a viable option.

I'm installing the same system in my 360 at a cost of about $17k with the harness built by Dave Buckwalter of Avionics Systems (http://www.avionikits.com/). This ($12,500) is a very good price. I only wish you had offered it a few months back. Any modifications required to the harness is a very simple thing to do. Somebody should grab this deal.

I agree it is a pretty attractive price at $12500. All Garmin prices are pretty similar, just go to any vendor and add up the components. Without the list of components by Jay it is just guessing on my part because they are boxes for the EIS and ADHRS and so forth but without the actual list of boxes it becomes a guess as to the total but because I have a G3X system so I think I understand what p/n's are included. I was estimating about $12.5k for the system before harnesses and a typical discount of 5% from Stein. That's my back-of-envelope calc. It is easier if the items being sold are listed plainly for people to see because Garmin charges for each item like install kits but bundles other items like ADHRS in kit form.
