HELP !! My project has been stalled for lack of the complete gear door mechanism. Cannot locate parts anywhere, LANCAIR will not return my calls. Will pay top dollar for a complete mechanism set.

Does that project I have listed in Mississipi look like it would have those parts? Did you look at the pictures? I have quite a few more. PM me for a view. Maybe the lady will take an offer--no idea but better than waiting for Uvalde.

Mr. Santos,

I sent you a private PM last week in regards to the parts you are needing, I provided my direct contact number at Lancair. I will be glad to assist you or Phil, however, I need more detail in regards to the parts you are needing. I will look into the gear door mechanism this morning.

Can you also please provide me with contact information?

Thank you,

Roxanne, thanks for getting back to the builder on the parts issue. The "PM" you sent Jose may not have been received because the site is getting a new email server since last weekend.

Can we ask about parts? There are complaints about calls not being returned. Can you please explain to the builders and owners here why a call to "Lancair" isn't being handled? Is there some secret or is there a problem that we don't recognize. A call for parts should end up being on your desk hopefully so why do so many people say nobody returns calls from Lancair. An owner from Europe isn't going to reach you at normal hours so what exactly is the process for ordering parts for people not living in Texas?

Is the $5 inquiry fee applicable for researching a part?

Can people send an email to order a part?

Is there a website listing the parts available? If not, why not?

Thanks very much for explaining to us if you can. Use the resources here as much as you need to help get parts to people that need them. A smooth, seamless way to see what parts are available and a specific method how to order would be the best solution. Getting your call center organized sounds like a first priority though.

As I recall, other than the actual hydraulic cylinder, wasn't most of the rest of that stuff built from raw materials? At least the early kits...
I'm pretty sure I have a couple old cylinders.

Jose,

Roxanne and myself have talked with Phil Corso today concerning your order. We were waiting on more definition on the components you required. The original list of parts was vague and we needed more clarity to continue.

Paul, please call me when you have a chance. 830-591-8218

The hydraulic cylinders, sequence valves and the actuator arm are the only 'special' things I can think of. The arm can be made out of aluminum angle. I think there is a drawing of it in the plans. The rest is just plumbing and a hinge.
